TWO Central Vehicle Registry (CVR) employees on Monday appeared before Harare regional magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa charged with criminal abuse of office after they registered a vehicle without following proper procedures.
Natalie Mazhero (26) and Chiraswa Nyagumbo (44) were remanded out of custody to July 5.
The complainant in the case was the CVR’s acting deputy registrar (licence section) Elizabeth Machigere.
Mazhero is a dispatch clerk while Nyagumbo is a licensing officer at CVR.
The State alleges that on March 1, 2024, and at CVR Harare depot, Mazhero entered a fake certificate of competency for Richard Runyararo Mahomva, a director in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services.
And Nyagumbo allegedly verified the same certificate in the system, contrary to her duties as a dispatch officer.
