TWO people died while nine others were injured in a road accident involving a Nissan Caravan commuter omnibus and a bicycle that was being ridden by a nine-year-old along Kadoma-Sanyati Road.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the accident which happened on Saturday.
“Two people were killed when a Nissan Caravan kombi with 18 passengers on board hit a juvenile (9) who was riding a bicycle. As a result, the kombi veered off the road to the left before overturning and landing on its left side,” the post read.
The accident occurred at the 80km peg along the Kadoma-Sanyati Road.
The commuter omnibus driver fled the scene and his whereabouts are not known.
In another accident which occurred in Marondera on Saturday last week, two people were killed while eight others were injured when a Toyota Wish with 10 passengers on board veered off the road and hit a tree along the Kudenga–Karimba Road.
