OPPOSITION Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator Joanah Mamombe and her two alleged co-accused on a charge of inciting Zimbabweans to revolt against government in 2020 will know their fate today when the court rules on the matter.
In the alternative charge, Mamombe and fellow party members Makomborero Haruziviishe and Tererai Obey Sithole are being charged with contravening the COVID-19 lockdown regulations by assembling in public.
The State led by Advocate Tafara Chirambira closed its case after leading evidence from all the witnesses, who included the police officers who arrested the CCC members.
They are being represented by Alec Muchadehama and Gift Mtisi.
When the trial opened, the CCC members pleaded not guilty to the charges citing the right to freedom of association and to demonstrate.
It is alleged that around noon on May 13, 2020, they teamed up with several others and gathered at Warren Park 1 shopping centre in Harare before marching towards Harare-Bulawayo Highway.
