A HARARE woman yesterday told magistrate Sharon Mashavira that her two minor children were traumatised after being assaulted several times by a neighbour.
Josephine Sefa accused her neighbour Easyway Matopo of physically assaulting her two children, aged 11 and 17, while she was away from home for three days.
“I went away for three days and when I came back, I heard that Matopo had assaulted my children. My youngest child was recommended to see a psychologist and psychiatrist because whenever he hears the applicant’s voice he trembles with fear and messes himself,” she said.
She accused Matopo of dragging her to court over baseless allegations.
“I am surprised that he has run to the court to report me that I am breaching his peace while he is the one involving himself when our children have altercations,” she said.
Matopo admitted paying an admission of guilt fine for assaulting the two minors but pleaded with the court to be granted a peace order against Sefa.

He said Sefa had lost control over her children, adding that they defame him.
“Her children shout obscenities at me and they write hate speech on my car’s windscreen,” he said.
Mashavira dismissed Matopo’s application for lack of merit.
