A MARONDERA man appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi yesterday facing a domestic violence charge after he threatened to axe his ex-wife following a child custody dispute.
Tendai Gambiza (33) was remanded in custody to today for bail application.
The complainant was identified as Felistas Bere.
Prosecutor Zororo Nkomo told the court that on August 28, 2023, Gambiza went to the complainant’s workplace in the capital armed with an axe.
He confronted the complainant demanding to see their child, contrary to a court order which stated that he could only have access to the child during weekends.
After being denied access to the child, Gambiza turned violent threatening to axe the complainant who reported to police, leading to his arrest.
