FIVE men from Silobela have been arrested after they allegedly fatally assaulted a 23-year-old man, who they accused of stealing their donkeys.
Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident.
“The five are Bhekithemba Dlodlo, Nelton Ndlovu, Ntokozo Ncube, Mbekezeli Lunga and Bukhosi Moyo. They assaulted the victim, Mthabisi Ncube, with logs before stabbing him on the backside. They dumped Ncube’s body at headman Edward Ndlovu’s homestead,” Mahoko said.
Meanwhile, a 23-year-old man from Magomero Block in Shurugwi died after he was stabbed by another man in a fight over a woman.
The victim, Robson Goni, was stabbed by an unknown suspect who he had accused of having an affair with his girlfriend.
In another incident, a 26-year-old Gweru man, Valentine Muberekwa from Mkoba 7 was fatally stabbed while trying to stop a fight at Salaco Night Club in Mtapa.

“I appeal to members of the public to desist from using violence when dealing with disputes,” Mahoko said.
