PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to commission the upgraded Beitbridge Border Post and three other infrastructure projects today.
The upgrading of the border post started in 2017 when he assumed office.
Government awarded a local company, Zimborders, the tender to upgrade the region's busiest port of entry at a cost of US$300 million, funded by South African merchant banks.
"The President is coming on a working visit where he will commission projects that he promised and has delivered. We expect him again in Beitbridge when he comes to officially open the Beitbridge-Harare Road, which is one of the many projects the new dispensation brought," Albert Nguluvhe, MP for Beitbridge East said.
"Beitbridge residents and other Zimbabweans should witness these developments which have happened in our time.”
Mnangagwa, whose advance teams have been on the ground since last week, will commission the state-of-the-art border post, which is 90% complete.

He will also commission 240 housing units for civil servants, a million-cubic-litre tank to improve Beitbridge water supplies and a modern fire station, all done under the Beitbridge redevelopment concept.
Zanu PF followers in Beitbridge were yesterday preparing to welcome Mnangagwa, who is also expected to address a campaign rally.
