IT was a fun-filled Saturday to remember for those who gathered to braai, booze, and dance to music at the annual Castle Lager National braai festival.
The popular and strictly no-under-18 festival funded by Delta Beverages through their Castle Lager brand was held at Harare’s Old Hararians Sports Club which was packed with people of different ages, colour and from all walks of life.
The dancehall president Winky D appeared on stage clad in a cowboy outfit for his long awaited performance to patient revellers.
Acknowledging his success to his fans, the dancehall chanter — who is celebrating his 20th anniversary in music next year — took the partygoers back into time by performing songs which laid the foundation of his musical journey.
His down-memory-lane serenade included yesteryear songs Musarova Bigman, Ninja Saturday, Controversy, Nobody, Takaipa Takaipa and Handisiye. His playlist also cmprised recent releases such as MuGarden and Happy Again.
Other artistes who performed at the braai fest included songbird Tamy Moyo, dancehall stars Enzo Ishall, Dhadza D and Chillspot Family, among others.

Tamy Moyo put up an incredible performance with her dance crew lighting up the stage much to the delight of the packed audience. Her playlist included Kwandinobva, Zvandiri, 100 Kwandiri, Kuteera and Rudo, a duet with the late dancehall chanter Soul Jah Love.
Dhadza D also produced an energetic performance as he denounced social ills such as drug and substance abuse, especially crystal meth popularly known as mutoriro.
Enzo Ishall also enjoyed a good day on the stage. He performed his hit track Matsimba, among others.
So did Chillspot Family's DJ Fantan and DJ Levels who rocked on the turntables, sending the fans into a frenzy.
Away from the stage, merrymakers were busy showing off their fashion tastes with some ladies dressed in bum shorts, flared dresses, crop tops, sandals and tight jeans; while men were mostly wearing shorts answering to the summer season call.
Some couples attended the event dressed in matching outfits with almost everyone busy taking videos with their smartphones.
