MOST social media stars are known for being outright rude by posing questions to their followers and when they engage them, they troll them, screengrab and repost.
Not this one, Brilliantine Bangamuseve has taken to Instagram to drive positivity. In fact, she uses the spotlight to champion a good cause from time-to-time.
Brilliantine, as she is known in her circles, became a popular feature on social media after she hosted a Gatsby-themed party last year, with crème de la crème of Bulawayo socialites rocking the early 1920s fashion.
The Instagram sensation recently won top female social media influencer at the Afrluencer Awards.
“It is such a great feeling being part of something and winning. It is incredible to know that people voted for me,” she told NewsDay Life & Style.
Brilliantine, who has always worked closely with the less privileged, said she was dedicating the award to a project she is “privately working on”, further noting that she was also working with an orphaned girl to help her with whatever she can.
“This award is a reminder that I should keep doing the work and help others to walk through this era of mental health challenges. Above everything, I dedicate it to my two babies and to God, my duty is to keep spreading His word and love because He is the master of everything,” she said.
“I think when we help or do charity, we should not take away the dignity of those we are helping by disclosing their identity. It is important to strike a balance between raising awareness and exposing other people’s misfortune.”
