As long as the party maintains its current course, China’s scientific aspirations will remain unfulfilled, and its contributions to global knowledge will fall short of their potential. True scientific progress requires freedom, integrity, and a genuine commitment to the pursuit of truth – values that remain at odds with the CCP’s authoritarian control.
