The ANC has opted for the government of national unity as the party maps the way forward after failing to secure a majority in the May elections.
Party president Cyril Ramaphosa says a government of national unity is the best option for the country.
Ramaphosa has confirmed the ANC has held constructive discussions with several other parties.
These parties include the EFF, IFP, DA, the National Freedom Party and the Patriotic Alliance.
Ramaphosa says a broader national dialogue that includes civil society will also take place.
