LIQUID Intelligent Technologies has in the past five years put in place 261 long-term evolution (LTE) base stations across the country, as the company gears towards digital inclusion, businessdigest can report.
This is in addition to 26 000 kilometres of fibre network across the country.
In an interview with businessdigest on the side-lines of a media familiarisation tour in Harare on Tuesday, Liquid regional chief commercial officer for Central Africa, Lorreta Songola said the investment will contribute towards economic development.
"We have achieved more than 26 000 kilometres of fibre, 261 LTE base stations, 300 hotspots and 52 Edu Zones in Zimbabwe,” she said.
“(We have) achieved 110 000 kilometres of fibre network across Africa, positioning the organisation as the largest independent fibre network provider in emerging markets globally.”
Songola said fibre infrastructure impacted more than 100 million people across 643 towns and cities on the continent.

"(We are) recognised as a technology company that has brought local businesses access to cloud capabilities, world-class cyber security solutions in addition to our existing infrastructure and connectivity capability,” she said.
“Our priority as Liquid is connectivity especially in underserved areas. We will ensure accessible technologies that address broad societal issues, such as education, healthcare, and agriculture.”
The group, Songola noted, continues to create new opportunities by making digital inclusion a reality for businesses and individuals across the continent and ultimately accelerating the ongoing digital transformation in Africa.
"We invest and leverage on our partnerships. Reference is made to our strategic alliances with global tech companies Google Cloud, Microsoft and Al Company Anthropic. Zimbabwean businesses and individuals stand to gain from these powerful synergies,” she said.
“Liquid Intelligent Technologies follows a systematic and collaborative process for developing new and innovative products and services. We prioritise customer feedback and strategic partnerships as these drive our innovation cycle.”
Meanwhile, Songola said through a combination of market research, ideation, prototyping, and testing, the firm has been able to ensure that its solutions meet the ever-evolving needs of the customers.
These partnerships and feedback loops, she said, enabled them to gather valuable insights, validate concepts, and co-create solutions that deliver exceptional value to clients.
"We carry out annual brand health checks where we receive feedback from our partners and clients. This feedback plays a pivotal role in our process of developing new products," Songola stated.
Liquid, a business of Cassava Technologies, is a pan-African technology group with capabilities across 14 countries, primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa. Established in 2005, Liquid has firmly established itself as the leading digital infrastructure provider.
