Umahlekisa Comedy Club in partnership with Ingwebu Breweries have taken their comedy tourism drive to Umzigwane in Matabeleland South province where they host a show today that features award-winning comedian Carl Joshua Ncube.
The getaway event dubbed A day out with Carl Joshua Ncube will be held at the Blue Hills Camp in Umzingwane, 30km outside Bulawayo.
Besides comedy, there would be lots of activities such as Quad bike rides, put put, mountain biking, mountaineering and other games.
The comedy tourism drive started off with a getaway event at Silwane Reserve in Umguza on May 1, where the comedy club celebrated its eighth anniversary backed by performances from Mandla Da Comedian, Luchi Shiki, Zwe, Ms Dee, Blek Hit, rapper Pre Yung, Amasald eLokshini, Reilo and Simz, songstress Qeqeshiwe, Fab G, Siza Mdlongwa, Mengezi the magician, Babongile Skhonjwa and Ntando Van Moyo.
“We decided to engage Carl Joshua Ncube on this one because he is familiar with the tourism industry and the use of entertainment in the tourism avenues,” said Ntando Van Moyo, of Umahlekisa comedy club.
“It has been a while since the people of Bulawayo have had a show with him and it will be something unique, not only on the comedy side, but also on activities that will be held on the sidelines of comedy.”
“Taking people to such places is a way of taking people out of their houses and exposing them to local tourism sites through the use of comedy.
