Zimbabweans in the diaspora have been envying for peaceful protests to push for change. Activities included running of the vigils consistently outside the Zimbabwean Embassy since 2002 and every Saturday until change is achieved.
Some actions have been taken into such as petitions, protests and prayers. The move by the Zimbabwe Intercessors Movement to petition runs hand in glove with what we have been doing as churches in diaspora said Pamela Magwizi of Johanne Masowe Church.
Petitioning of Rishi Sunak by Zimbabweans and other members of various organisations went pretty well on the 30th of May 2024. This will not be possible without the effort of people who attended Zoom meetings, WhatsApp groups and phone calls.

Their work has been consolidated by that of many pastors in Zimbabwe.
Many of the attendees came from various organisations such as ZHRO, ROHR, opposition blue movement for Chamisa as they await from the signal from their leader of the way forward. Their messages were circulated on different platforms including that of the Zimbabwe parliament, Chamisa groups, CCC groups and other social media sites.
Asked for comment Mr. Hatirarame Jenatry Muranganwa said the message was nailed and now their is hope in Zimbabwe. He expressed his gratitude to the church leaders in Zimbabwe for heeding the call for peaceful action against the murderous regime in Zimbabwe. The wind of change is now on and its unstoppable said Mr. Kamombe after the success of the petition. Activists have raised concern on the abuse of law, arbitrary arrests of ordinary members and cluster leaders of the opposition, invoking of the Patriotic bill and its subsequent use in gagging the human rights activists in the name of patriotism.
