CHIVI-Zanu PF Women’s League deputy secretary Eunice Sandi-Moyo has described President Mugabe as a peacekeeper, saying God had given him a long life because he guarantees peace for Zimbabweans.

Speaking at the official handover of a church building built Killer Zivhu to Zion Apostolic Faith Mission Church (ZAFMC) members at their Museva shrine near Ngundu in Chivi on Saturday, where she stood in for First Lady Grace, Sandi-Moyo equated some Zanu PF elements advocating for Mugabe to relinquish power to rogue Israelites that started doubting the Lord as well as their given leader, Moses, on their long journey from Egypt to Canaan.
“All the other leaders who participated in the liberation struggle are dead, but God has kept him alive to this day . . . the Lord knows that he is the only one that can maintain peace in the country. Let me tell you that Mugabe is the leader that God chose for us. Just look at the national history as you go backwards,” she said.
“Don’t you believe that President has been kept alive to maintain peace in the country? Don’t you believe that we will be with him even in 2018? Even during the Israelites’ journey from Egypt, some started doubting Moses, and started praying other small gods.
“This is the same situation we are faced with, where people are misleading people in Zimbabwe, telling them of other leaders. It is up to us to be strong and see how much we trust in Mugabe, who was given to us by God.”
Sandi-Moyo added: “God did not give us a junior Mugabe. The Lord has not said Mugabe must retire. He said he should go ahead because his work is still there, yet some people are now worshipping other small gods, but we say to them, Come back to the Lord. The Lord says Mugabe is still with us. The Lord says whoever will follow some other time, but at this moment, he (Mugabe) is here to stay.”
She blasted fellow Zanu PF leaders who were hell-bent on self-aggrandisement.

“Some of us only like riches for ourselves. We never think of other people, but Zivhu shares the little that he has. That is what the scriptures mean by saying love your neighbour. You can never say you are a man of the people when you cannot do anything for the people,” she said.
“I do not know Zivhu, but it seems like I have known him for several years because of his humility and accessibility. We need leaders like him who fear the Lord, with a big heart, leaders who can help people.”
She leapt to Grace’ defence, saying she has never declared any presidential ambitions.
“I beg you and urge you that you should not get misled. People are now targeting the President’s wife because they are now scared of the power that they want. She is just supporting her hubby. There is no platform that she said she wants power,” she said.
“How can we have a First Lady who does not talk? She was just talking to support her hubby. She is the image of the Mugabe family. Follow your leaders. We urge churches to be the torchbearers and advocate for a strong Zimbabwe led by President Mugabe.”
ZAFMC leader Ezra Shoko said he was grateful for the support and appealed for more land to expand their church.
Zanu PF Harare provincial commissar Shadreck Mashayamobe attended the function and pledged to drill a borehole at the shrine, while Bikita South MP Jeppy Jaboon pledged 50 bags of cement.
