NICHOLAS Zacharia, one of sungura music’s godfathers, is scheduled to launch his 27th album in South Africa next month in honour of his fans in that country.

Zacharia, affectionately known as Senior Lecturer within music circles, will perform at Town Hall in Britstown District on July 29 and at Ekurhuleni Hotel in Boksburg, Johannesburg a day later.
The Senior Lecturer will be backed by fellow Zimbabwean artistes based in South Africa — Clever “MaPower” Maphosa and Fortune “Commander” Tagara of Agape All Stars band — during his performances.
Zacharia, undoubtedly one of the country’s musical super powers, confirmed to NewsDay that he will be performing in South Africa next month.
“It will be nice to meet our fans in South Africa and make a special launch of the forthcoming album. We are very excited and looking forward to meeting our fans there,” he said on the sidelines of a show at Club Mandisa in Mutare recently.
Zacharia said he had finished recording the new album, but said its title would be revealed later.
The Mazano hitmaker said he has fallen in love with his fans in South Africa and promised to play songs from the eagerly awaited album.

“We are geared for the show and we will be playing new and old songs. We are inviting all our fans to come in their numbers,” he said.
The Khiama Boys frontman, said songs on the album touched on the social ills and day-to-day lives of ordinary people.
He heads to South Africa following a series of successful shows that where part of his whirlwind tour around the country, which have attracted the South African promoters.
