A Harare man on Friday offered his ex-wife two pairs of shoes to sell for the upkeep of their two minor children.

Samuel Kuenda told magistrate Ayanda Dlamini that he was unemployed and could only offer Tarisai Mupingisi two pairs of shoes every month for resale.

“I will give her US$30 and two pairs of shoes from my stock every month so that she can sell them for the upkeep of our children,” Kuenda said.

He said each pair costs US$15.

Mupingisi declined the offer and demanded US$155.

Dlamini ordered Kuenda to pay US$30 every month for the upkeep of his children as well as school fees effective October 31.
