Mupfumi takes Macheso to Chivhu for a show

ZANU PF central committee member and renowned music promoter Esau Mupfumi will take the country's finest musicians to his rural home in Chivhu for live night performance on Thursday.

Three artistes headlined by Sungura maestro Alick Macheso, Pastor Charles Charamba and Peter Moyo will perform at Chinjekure village at the businessman’s homestead in Chivhu.

The Mutare-based bussinessman who enjoys a good relationship with country's musicians told this Publication yesterday the show will also be meant to thank Chivhu villagers for supporting the family.

Speaking from Chivhu where he was preparing for the show Mupfumi said everything is in place for the show.

"We are bringing Alick Macheso, Peter Moyo and Baba Charamba at Chinjekure village in Chivhu this is our rural home and I just feel like it is time to thank the Chivhu community for the support,"

"We want them to have a befitting year end as we are coming to the end of the year and l know they are going to be happy," he said.

Mupfumi added, "We are inviting music fans to come from all corners of the country to come and witness the show.

"This is going to be a night show (Pungwe) until Friday morning since we are still at holiday people will have time to relax.”

After the Covid - 19 lockdown Mupfumi invited musicians to perform at his entertainment joint Pick and Save.

During the Covid - 19 lockdown Mupfumi also donated food hand outs to musicians for survival as they could not hold shows.

Mupfumi's father James Mupfumi who loves gospel music will enjoy music from talented musician Baba Charamba.

Mupfumi's mother Lucia passed some few years back.
