The festival will run between September 25 and 28 at various venues in Harare.

Tafadzwa Sharaunga, the festival’s media liaison officer, said interested artistes can download the form on the festival’s website.

“We are calling for artistes who are interested to participate at this year’s edition of Shoko Festival to register for participation. More information is on our website, www.shokofestival.com,” Sharaunga said.

“We are looking for creative, cutting edge applications that involve presenting new ideas, interesting collaborations and powerful performances.”

As a way of appreciating of local artistes for the growth of the arts sector, the festival organisers have named 10 local artistes as the festival’s ambassadors.

Sharaunga said the initiative would see the artistes getting the opportunity to interact with different festival directors and ambassadors on cultural exchange programmes.

Last year, the festival named various stages after late artistes as an honour for the work they did for the local arts sector.

Shoko is attesting to be one of the country’s fastest growing international festival and has established itself as a major event on the country’s annual arts calendar.
