FAMOUS for her role as Dineo Mashaba in one of South Africa’s leading soapies, Generations, Katlego Danke is set to reunite with her Zimbabwean fans when she jets into the country on Monday.

Danke will feature at a premiere event to promote an upcoming feature film about human trafficking titled Ziyanda slated for Impala Lodge in Bulawayo under the auspices of Ziyanda Film Association.
This will be her second appearance after she made a guest appearance at another function in the city five months ago.
In an interview with NewsDay yesterday, the film’s executive producer Dumisani Nkomo confirmed that the actress will land in Bulawayo on Africa Day along with fellow compatriot Zintle Ncipa of Rhythm City.
“Danke will be in Bulawayo on Africa Day (May 25) to grace the preview of the film which is set to be launched in April next year.
“The reason why we are bringing her along with others is because she is an internationally recognised and loved face who is humble, accessible and can easily help in marketing the film internationally,” said Nkomo.

Nkomo also said Dineo will proceed to Harare where she will meet fans at Book Café on Tuesday afternoon before heading back home.
It has emerged as fact that often foreign actors/actresses are more famous than local ones in the country and Nkomo attributed this to the quality of productions due to challenges film makers are facing.
“We lack funding and have no set structures to promote film production locally and this has resulted in a bigger problem as our industry is not growing,” he said.
The movie is a vivid documentation targeted at addressing gross human rights violations concealed in organised crime and increasing much-needed awareness on it in Africa as in other continents.
It will also feature Zimbabwean-born Luthuli Dlamini (formerly of Generations and Scandal), Pastor Stanley Gwanzura (popularly known as Pastor G), Zintle Ncipa (Rhythm City) and television host Nyasha Mtamangira among other established and emerging film stars.
