Kwekwe-based music ensemble Zig-Zag band are working on a new album expected to be recorded by mid-summer season, the group manager has said.

In a recent interview in Gweru, band manager Madison Phiri told NewsDay that there were already three songs on the new album recorded during live performances.
“We have three songs that are intact and these include We Gonna Dance the Zig-Zag Way, Rova Ngoma and Gwenyambira,” Phiri said.
“The album, which we hope to record by mid-summer this year, has six tracks and it’s going to be a hit.”
He said the album, which is yet to be named has songs that have been well received by fans judging from live performances in areas such as Kwekwe and Kadoma.
Phiri said the group which used to hire instruments for live shows now has its own instruments place.
The original Zig-Zag, famed for classic hits such as Gomo Ramasare, Hombiro, VaMandela, Nyarunde and Ropa Remukaranga, suffered a setback in the mid-90s and early 2000 following the deaths of its founder members.
