THE Welshman Ncube-led MDC yesterday said it will soon decide on the fate of embattled Proportional Representation MP Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga after youths from the opposition party called for her ouster and recall from Parliament.

Misihairabwi-Mushonga was on Sunday accused of working in cahoots with Tendai Biti’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and failing to represent MDC interests in Parliament.

The former party secretary-general was further accused of rushing to seal the United Movement for Democratic Change coalition deal without the consent of other party members and trying to influence others to dump MDC for PDP.

MDC spokesperson Kurauone Chihwayi told NewsDay yesterday that they were already seized with the matter and a decision would be announced soon.

“The MDC leadership is currently analysing resolutions and announcements made by the national youth assembly, which is a very important wing of the party, and will make its position known within very few days,” said Chihwayi.

He said although they respected the independence and efforts of the national youth assembly in all party processes, the party would remain guided by its constitution.

Chihwayi, however, said if allegations against their former secretary-general were proven true, the party would not hesitate to expel her.

“The youths raised serious issues that require leadership attention, and as a party we are now seized with the issues raised by the vanguard of the party,” Chihwayi said.

Misihairabwi-Mushonga refused to speak on the issue yesterday.

“I don’t have any comment to make on that matter,” she said.
