MUTARE residents have started benefiting from a Destiny for Afrika Network’s (DaNet) housing project in Mai Maria village of Lot One where the electrification of 1500 households has started.

DaNet Manicaland leadership led by Wilson Masokowere have engaged Flavio and Alma Investments to light up the suburb.

In separate interviews, beneficiaries of the housing project said they were pleased that their days in darkness were coming to an end.

“We are happy about the project of lighting up our suburb Mai Maria village. We believe the money is affordable and we hope in the next few months we are going to have electricity,” Tariro Muchona said.

Itai Dirwai of Flavio and Alma said they have set a May deadline to finish electrifying the houses.

DaNet Manicaland chairperson Wilson Masokowere said: “”Our desire is to offer the best services to our residents and we work night and day to improve all our projects.”

Residents also made contributions of US$306 each towards the electrification exercise.
