HARARE magistrate Rufaro Panavanhu yesterday postponed the trial of three activists on charges of incitement to violence saying the court is overwhelmed.
Activists Namatai Kwekweza, Robson Chere and Samuel Gwenzi are facing allegations of protesting outside the Harare Magistrates Court.
They were allegedly protesting agthe arrest and continued detention of Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) member Jameson Timba and other opposition activists.
They will be back in court on April 10.
They are being represented by Jeremiah Bamu and Tinashe Chinopfukutwa. The three spent weeks in detention after being denied bail, with the State arguing that they were likely to abscond, commit other offences or cause public despondency.
The High Court later granted them US$150 bail each.
They claimed that they were held incommunicado and tortured for several hours following their dramatic arrest at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.
They were removed from a plane at the airport on their way to Victoria Falls and charged with disorderly conduct.
