Dzivarasekwa accident death toll rises to 8

HARARE, Mar.20 (NewsDayLive)- The death toll from a road traffic accident that occurred at the intersection of Bulawayo and Dzivarasekwa roads Wednesday morning has risen to eight, police have said.

The accident, which involved a commuter omnibus and two trucks, claimed seven lives on the spot while others were seriously injured.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said seven of the deceased have been positively identified. These are Zedi Chikomo, Mary Round, Nyarai Meki, Sophia Machamba, Enoch Chanengeta, Blessing Banda, and Takudzwa Musekiwa.

The eighth victim, whose body is at Sally Mugabe Hospital mortuary, is yet to be identified.
