GWANDA, March 13, (NewsDayLive) - A 28-year-old man from Maphisa, Matabeleland South province, was recently sentenced to 15 years in jail for raping his 12-year-old biological sister on two occasions.
The matter was heard at the Gwanda magistrates' court where it was revealed that the first incident happened on December 24, 2024 when the offender and the victim shared the same bedroom.
"On the 28th of January, 2025, he raped her again. The matter was revealed when the complainant told a neighbour, who then informed the neighbourhood watch," the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe said in a statement.
"They set up an ambush and found the man naked in bed with his sister (the complainant).
“A police report was filed, leading to his arrest. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison."
