ZIMBABWEANS have been called to nominate deserving individuals for the country’s highest honours and awards, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Martin Rushwaya has said in a statement.
According to Rushwaya, the awards aim to recognise Zimbabweans who have made outstanding contributions to the country’s development, liberation war and well-being.
Rushwaya emphasised that nominees should be luminaries who meet the eligibility criteria for the award under which they are nominated.
“Government intends to award eligible and deserving Zimbabwean citizens across all our range of honours and awards. The individuals should be luminaries who meet the eligibility criteria for the award under which they are nominated,” he said.
“We are hereby inviting nominations of people, in your sector, eligible for conferment with any of the Honours and Awards of Zimbabwe.
“Please note that each nomination should be accompanied by a justification in the form of a brief detailed profile on the achievements for which the individual is deemed deserving of this special recognition and national honour.”
The various awards and honours recognise achievements in fields such as politics, diplomacy, public service, defence, security, academia, research, business, economics, social services, arts, culture, sports and entertainment.
The awards include the Order of the Great Zimbabwe, Royal Order of the Munhumutapa, Order of the Star of Zimbabwe, National Historical Legacy Award, Bravery Awards, and Commendation Awards, each honouring outstanding achievements in various fields.
