HARARE, Jan 22 (NewsDayLive) -CHILLSPOT record label music producer Tafadzwa Mandaza, popularly known as DJ Ribhe, is expected to stand in the dock on January 25 for trial on allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl.
Initially, Mandaza (32) appeared before Harare magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa before he was granted bail by the High Court.
It is the State’s case that on October 16 last year, the victim's father filed a missing person report with the police after his daughter failed to come home and had absconded classes for two consecutive days.
The court heard that during that period, the teenage girl was seen patronising an entertainment joint in the company of DJ Ribhe and other people.
While there, DJ Ribhe allegedly made her drink an unknown substance while smoking shisha, leading to her intoxication.
When she later regained consciousness, she discovered that she had slept at the accused's house and had been sexually abused.
The matter came to light on October 20, 2024, when she went home and revealed her ordeal after being interrogated by her father.
