Man jailed 60 years for armed robberies in Mash West

BINDURA, Jan 21 (NEWSDAY LIVE) –  A BINDURA man has been jailed for 60 years following a string of violent robberies in Mashonaland Central province.

Whiskey Tennis faced crimes of theft of money, electronic and household goods, using a wooden baton and pistol. He would target homes and businesses.

Last June, Tennis went to Lindiwe Kuzondishaya’s residence in Greenhill and threatened her with the weapons. He robbed her of US$1 600.

On September 21, Tennis also attacked Tafadzwa Ngwenya at her home and robbed her of US$12 000, a plasma TV, a laptop and a mobile phone.

The State said he committed more robberies in Concession, Chiweshe, Bindura and surrounding areas.
