REHABILITATION of a section of the Rutenga-Chicualacuala railway line which was washed away by a heavy downpour in the past few days, has been completed, the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) has said.
In their last update, NRZ said the line was reopened to traffic last night at 2250hrs on Sunday following persistent efforts from their recovery team.
"We applaud the employees who worked tirelessly to ensure that the tracks were restored and trains can run smoothly," NRZ wrote in a statement.
NRZ spokesperson Andrew Kunambura said they had worked around the clock to complete the repairs and ensure that the line reopened as soon as possible.
