MUTARE-BASED entrepreneur and Zanu PF youth leader, Liberty Gumende, has heaped praise on President Emmerson Mnangagwa for driving youth empowerment.

Gumende was recently appointed treasurer of the Manicaland chapter of Boys DzaMudhara, a term referring to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s loyalists.

He said they were inspired by the appointment of the Zimbabwe Youth Council board to drive youth empowerment.

The board was announced by Youth Empowerment minister Tinoda Machakaire early this month.

"I don't think 2024 was a bad year for us youths who are in business. Of course, there might be ups and downs but it was generally a good year," Gumende, who is into hardware business, said.

"We are inspired by President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his vision to promote youth empowerment.

“We are motivated by his remarks brick by brick, which also means success is not built overnight."

Gumende also applauded Manicaland Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Misheck Mugadza for supporting youths in the province.

"We have a minister who wants youth to thrive and always come with business opportunities for us," he added.

Gumede is currently expanding his hardware business across Manicaland province to create at least 1 000 jobs for the youths.
