ZIMBABWE’S Women’s Affairs ministry on Thursday signed two crucial memoranda of understanding (MoU) with its Zambian counterpart.
The MoU aims to promote mutual co-operation, capacity building and knowledge sharing in areas such as policy development, institutional framework and entrepreneurship as well as co-operative development.
Women’s Affairs minister Monica Mutsvangwa said the partnership will promote small and medium enterprises and foster growth between both countries.
“This partnership is poised to unlock new trade and investment opportunities by promoting joint ventures across various sectors, thereby enhancing economic growth,” she said.
“By engaging in joint research initiatives and leveraging existing international and regional agreements, we will amplify the visibility of our goods and services.
“Furthermore, sharing vital policy, trade and investment information will uncover untapped business opportunities, enriching the economic landscape of both nations.”
Mutsvangwa said the collaboration will also streamline trade facilitation measures, empowering entrepreneurs from both countries to participate in trade missions, fairs, and exhibitions.
“The establishment of warehouses and trading houses will improve operational efficiency, while coordinated efforts with customs and immigration authorities will ensure smooth border operations, reducing delays and enhancing the overall trade processes,” she said.
