Dema woman killed, dumped in rubbish pit

POLICE in Dema, Mashonaland East province, are investigating a gruesome murder in which the victim, identified as Taurwi Chizhanje (44), was found dead in a rubbish pit with multiple stab wounds on the face, breast and private parts.

"Chizhanje was found dead in a rubbish pit at a bushy area along Chitsvatsva-Murisa dust road near Murisa Business Centre on Saturday," read a post on the police X account.

"The victim was found with multiple stab wounds on the face, breast and private parts, the right eye was plucked out and an empty beer bottle was inserted in the private parts."

In a similar case, police in Gweru are investigating a murder case in which Bothwell Sibanda (28) died whilst admitted at a local hospital.

Sibanda was reportedly admitted "after being found bleeding profusely from the right knee, where he had a stab wound, near a cocktail bar at Mkoba 16 Business Centre on October 26th". 

Meanwhile, Harare police have opened an inquiry into an armed robbery incident, which took place at a grocery shop at Tilcor Industry, Chitungwiza, on Saturday afternoon.

Three unidentified suspects who were armed with a  pistol  stole US$8 705 cash from two till drawers in the shop after firing one shot into the roof and ordering shop workers and customers to lie down.The robbers then drove away in an unmarked Honda Fit vehicle.
