BULAWAYO City Council (BCC) has warned organisations and members of the public against a fraudster impersonating one of its officials.
Town clerk Christopher Dube said one Mr Mhlanga has been misrepresenting himself as a council legal affairs officer to demand payment for some alleged legal fees.
“The City of Bulawayo would like to distance itself from this individual and advise members of the public that there is no such individual in the city’s staff complement or designation of legal affairs officer with the City of Bulawayo,” he said.
“They are further encouraged not to make any payments to the persons on the assumption that these are for the City of Bulawayo.”
Several businesses have fallen victim to the con-artist.
