PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has consoled the Nare family following the death of retired Labour Court judge Justice Selo Nare on Saturday.
Mnangagwa expressed deep sorrow and sadness on learning of the demise of Justice Nare, who was also former National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC)
chairperson.
In a statement yesterday, Mnangagwa said the late retired judge left an indelible mark on Zimbabwe’s legal and education landscapes.
“He was a dedicated and diligent civil servant and judicial officer “, Mnangagwa said.
Justice Nare started his career in education sector as a primary school teacher in the Midlands and Matabeleland South provinces and later joined the Judicial Services Commission as a court interpreter and rose to become magistrate and eventually Labour Court judge.
In 2018, Mnangagwa appointed Justice Nare NPRC chairperson tasking him with promoting peace and reconciliation nationwide.
“He also convened the Political Actors Dialogue, which united most political party leaders who participated in the 2018 harmonised elections,” Mnangagwa said.
