THE trial of Harare property developer George Katsimberis on fraud charges will resume on November 4 after it was postponed by the regional court

THE trial of Harare property developer George Katsimberis on fraud charges will resume on November 4 after it was postponed by the regional court on Thursday.

Katsimberis is accused of building a showroom in Borrowdale without an approved building plan and this resulted in the demolition of the property.

During the previous sittings, then deputy prosecutor general Michael Reza who was recently appointed Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission chairperson accused Katsimberis of delaying the trial by requesting a Greek interpreter in an effort to frustrate the court.

Reza told court that Katsimberis had testified thrice at the Harare magistrate court using the English language.

The  then prosecutor said Katsimberis initially requested to use English before Harare magistrate Letween Rwodzi, before going on to seek the services of a Greek interpreter when the case was taken over by Vongai Guwuriro.

Katsimberis is denying the charge and has accused the State of denying the right to a fair trial.

The property developer accuses court officials of being in the pockets of his business rival Ken Sharpe, who caused his arrest.
