A SUSPECTED drug addict appeared before Harare magistrate Stanford Mambanje on Tuesday facing allegations of attempting to rape his mother.
The suspect, Rivaldo Whiskey, was remanded in custody to September 20 after the State opposed bail.
Prosecutor Mercy Masamvi told the court that on September 4, an allegedly intoxicated Whiskey went to her mother’s bedroom demanding sex.
He allegedly said his mother needed it since his father was in South Africa. He allegedly tried to rape his mother, but was overpowered.
His mother ran out of the room, with Whiskey in hot pursuit, the court heard.
She then sought refuge at a neighbour’s house.
The matter was reported to the police.
