Nzenza appointed ambassador to France

Nzenza served in government first as Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare minister and then as Industry and Commerce minister.

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed former Industry and Commerce minister Sekai Nzenza Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to France.

Nzenza’s new role includes representing Zimbabwe at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation in Paris and the United Nations Tourism in Madrid, Spain.

“It is hereby notified that His Excellency the President has, in terms of section 110(2)(i) as read with section 204 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, appointed Sekai Irene Nzenza Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to France,” General Notice 1187 of 2024 read.

Nzenza, a former Chikomba East legislator, holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Melbourne, Australia, Health Sciences degree from the United Kingdom and is also an accomplished author and cultural critic.

Nzenza served in government first as Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare minister and then as Industry and Commerce minister.

Addressing members during a provincial co-ordinating committee meeting at the weekend in Marondera, Zanu PF Mashonaland East provincial chairperson Daniel Garwe congratulated Nzenza on her new role.

“We thank His Excellency President Mnangagwa for appointing Sekai Nzenza to lead the ‘Zimbabwe is open for business’ mantra in Europe,” Garwe said.

“Congratulations, ambassador and we wish you well as you go to represent Zimbabwe’s national interests while promoting the President’s engagement and re-engagement agenda.”
