WARRIORS skipper Marvelous Nakamba has returned to training with his English side Luton Town after a lengthy spell on the sidelines following a knee injury last season.
His return to full training gives him hopes of a return to the national team, which kicks of its 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers in September.
Luton Town were relegated from the English Premier League to the second-tier league last season and Nakamba missed a better part of their campaign in the top league owing to that nagging knee injury.
Nakamba was part of the Warriors’ squad in Rwanda last November for the Group C World Cup qualifiers where they drew with the East African country and Nigeria.
The Warriors skipper aggravated an injury there and went under the knife in December and has been on a recovery path since then.
Nakamba is in Slovenia with the English Championship side, who are in pre-season camp and were due to play FC Rukh Vynnyky in a friendly match.
Their next friendly game is against Goztepe on Saturday.
His return comes as good news for the next Warriors coach ahead of the team’s Group J clash with Kenya in an Afcon tie in September.
