A HARARE man, who is employed at the University of Zimbabwe in the office of the vice-chancellor as a driver, was yesterday dragged to court for unlawful entry to Interpol Regional Bureau in Harare.
Harare magistrate Caroline Matanga remanded Whitemore Tafadzwa Kakono (52) of Mt Pleasant in custody to July 8 this year.
The complainant is Interpol Regional Bureau, Harare, represented by Obediah Mpofu of Avondale, Harare.
Prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi said last Saturday, Mpofu went to his workplace after arriving from a foreign trip.
He secured the office and left for home, leaving everything in order.
The prosecution alleged that the next day, Kakono entered the Interpol yard and unlocked the main entrance door to gain entry to the building.
While inside, Kakono allegedly forced open a window next to the stairs and gained entry to the second floor, where he ransacked a number of offices.
Unbeknown to him, his actions were being captured on camera.
