Shephard Maribha, of Hopi village in Mt Darwin under Chief Nembire, was dragged to the Bindura regional courts on Wednesday over the charges.

IN a shocking incident, a self-styled prophet from Mt Darwin, Mashonaland Central province, is in soup after he allegedly kissed the private parts of 12 other men in the name of exorcism.

Shephard Maribha, of Hopi village in Mt Darwin under Chief Nembire, was dragged to the Bindura regional courts on Wednesday over the charges.

He appeared before magistrate Elisha Singano, who remanded him in custody to June 21.

Prosecutor Edward Katsvairo alleged that between February and June this year, Maribha lured 12 men whom he claimed were being tormented by evil spirits.

Maribha said he could cast the evil spirits away by touching and sucking their private parts.

His luck ran out when he was reported to the police, leading to his arrest.
