POLICE have released the names of 15 of the 22 people who died in a road accident at the 27km peg along the Bulawayo-Beitbridge Highway on Tuesday night.
Twenty-people died on the spot when a South Africa-bound Toyota Quantum commuter omnibus collided head-on with a DAF truck.
Everyone in the Toyota Quantum died, while the driver of the DAF truck and his passenger were injured.
Last night, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi identified the 15 as Sadam Maenzane (31) of Old Magwegwe, Kifi Sphandla (48) of Nkulumane 5, Tobias Ncube (36) of Mbundane, Mehluli Sibanda (39) of Mpopoma, Gilbert Nyoni (45) of Entumbane, Ntutuko Mpofu (33) of Emganwini, Kylene Ndlovu (2) of Njube and Vongai Tshuma (36) of Njube.
There is also Jennifer Ndlovu (42) of New Magwegwe, Sibonginkosi Ndlovu (42) of Summerton, Ruth Mawonidze (33) of Nketa 9, Noah Haurambwe (40) of Pumula and Dumoluhle Ndlovu (36) of Luveve 5, all from Bulawayo, as well as Brian Phiri (44) of Ndiweni village in Kezi and Aldrean Ndlalambi (46) of Mkoba 16 in Gweru.
Nyathi said the other seven were yet to be identified by their next of kin and urged people who have missing relatives who were travelling along the route on the day to contact the police.
Meanwhile, police in Ndali are investigating the death of Martha Hlatwayo (38) on Wednesday at Checheche Hospital after being struck with a log on the head by her husband, Jairos Mundikudze.
Mundikudze has since been arrested.

In Bulawayo, police are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of the murder of Azaria Dube (26) in Cowdray Park.
