Collen Mukai made these allegations in his application for a protection order against Trish Kahandi.

A MIDDLE-AGED man from Dzivaresekwa high-density suburb in Harare yesterday accused his estranged girlfriend of dumping their minor child at his workplace in an attempt to get him fired.

Collen Mukai made these allegations in his application for a protection order against Trish Kahandi.

He told magistrate Sharon Mashavira that his ex-lover dumped their child at his workplace.

“I want her to be stopped from approaching my workplace because she wants to get me fired. She recently dumped our child at my workplace and it caused a bad reputation for me to my employers,” Mukai said.

He also accused Kahandi of assaulting him and insulting him via phone calls.

Kahandi did not oppose the application.

She said she only called Mukai seeking financial help to take care of their child.

“I called him and approached his workplace because the child was sick and he was ignoring me.”

She said the child was suffering from eczema.

“I do not know any one of his relatives or friends that I can approach to contact him in times of need,”

Mashavira ordered her to stop going to the applicant’s place of work.

She advised her to approach the maintenance court over the upkeep of their child.
