THE Chinese embassy has rehabilitated Hossana Love in Africa Children’s Home, in Harare.
The embassy also donated groceries to the nursery.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Chinese ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding said the embassy would continue to help disadvantaged communities in the country.
“I feel so proud that with the help of the Chinese embassy and the Chinese community, the children’s home has achieved remarkable progress with a growing number of children benefiting from the facilities and enjoying their childhood here,” Zhou said.
“I am particularly happy with the news that some of the boys and girls from here went to university for higher education and many have started to give back to society as grown-ups.”
The embassy has been providing continuous assistance to the children’s home by renovating facilities, upgrading water and electricity supply systems and donating daily necessities, among others.
Zhou said Chinese relations with Zimbabwe extended beyond political, economic and trade co-operation.
“In the past years, the Chinese government has funded numerous livelihood projects including building schools, hospitals, stadiums, libraries and drilling boreholes,” he said.
