THREE men were yesterday arraigned before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi over the alleged murder of a city bouncer.
Tinotenda Chivhizhe (28), Terrence Mugocha (21) and Proud Kaguda (21) were remanded in custody to November 20 for indictment to the High Court.
Appearing for the State, Zebidiah Bofu alleged that on November 2 this year, the trio was driving around in a Toyota Duet and picked Mitchell Muranda (22), a sex worker, around midnight.
The court heard that Chivhizhe allegedly had unprotected sex with her, but a misunderstanding arose over payment for the service.
The sex worker claimed that her money was stolen by the trio before she was forced to disembark along Fife Avenue.
Bofu further alleged that the sex worker hired bouncers and followed the trio, whom she accused of stealing her money.
On approaching corner 6th Street and Livingstone Avenue, the sex worker and bouncers proceeded to the accused’s vehicle intending to switch off the engine.
The trio, however, sped off while dragging one of the bouncers with his head inside the vehicle.

Bofu also told the court that the deceased bouncer attacked the driver as he tried to stop the car.
It is further alleged that one of the accused persons hit the bouncer with an empty beer bottle on the head and stabbed him on the neck.
The court also heard that the bouncer fell down and died a few metres away.
The trio drove home and did not report the matter to the police. Police investigations led to their arrest.
