A 42-YEAR-OLD woman from Insuza village in Matabeleland North province who appeared in court last week charged with arson and malicious damage to property has been granted US$80 bail.
Tholiwe Dube appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa who granted her bail before remanding the matter to October 23.
She was ordered to reside at her given address until the finalisation of the case and to report to the nearest police station twice every fortnight.
Dube was also ordered not to interfere with witnesses.
The complainant in the case is Patson Moyo.
It is the State’s case that on September 29 at 8am, Dube had a misunderstanding with Moyo's wife, Virginia Ncube.
The verbal exchange degenerated into a fistfight and neighbours intervened to stop the scuffle. Dube later returned to Moyo’s residence and found the couple away.
She then set two huts ablaze, destroying property worth US$600 in the process.
