A 39-YEAR-OLD man from Mahatshula North suburb in Bulawayo has appeared in court facing charges of forging a Cambridge examination registration slip.
Solomon Sakala denied the charges when he appeared before magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa on Monday.
He was granted US$50 bail and remanded to October 16.
He was ordered to reside at his given address until the finalisation of the case and to report to the nearest police station daily as part of his bail conditions.
The court heard that on July 27 this year, Sakala approached one Vaina Kufa and told her that he could facilitate for her daughter to register for the Cambridge November examinations.
Sakala was allegedly given US$250 by Kufa as payment.
The State alleges that on September 28, Sakala forged a statement of entry for the November Cambridge examinations and gave it to Kufa who discovered that it was fake.
Kufa reported the matter to police, resulting in Sakala’s arrest.
