THE Japanese Embassy in partnership with Nhaka foundation has donated two early childhood education (ECD) classroom blocks, furniture, staff housing and a solar powered borehole at Muvande Primary school in Seke district, Mashonaland East.
Speaking at the event, Japan Ambassador Tanaka Satoshi said: “With the two new classroom blocks, desks and chairs students will enjoy their lessons in much cleaner and more comfortable surroundings.
"I hope students will enjoy learning at the new improved school and bring out unique talents and potential and teachers will be motivated to give good lessons.”
Nhaka foundation projects director Garikai Makokoro said the gesture will afford learners access to quality education.
"We are confident that the completed project will go a long way in supporting the school and community. As we partner with the Japanese Embassy, we have been able to conquer the challenge experienced by the school and community on access to a safe learning environment, quality education, health and nutrition,” Makokoro said.
Seke-Chikomba proportional representative Tatenda Mavetera (Zanu PF) also donated ECD textbooks during the event.
Mashonaland East provincial minister Apolinia Munzverengi said government welcomed the Japanese and Nkako foundation gesture saying “without proper infrastructure, children’s education will be compromised.”
