Sikhala in another freedom bid

Job Sikhala

CITIZENS Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator Job Sikhala has filed another application for bail on changed circumstances in a case where he is facing charges of obstructing justice.

On Monday, he filed another application for bail in relation to another charge of incitement to violence.

The cases are related to the violence that occured at the funeral of the slain opposition activist Moreblessing Ali.

Sikhala is represented by Advocate Thabani Mpofu, Jeremiah Bhamu and Doug Coltart.

Sikhala has clocked more than 160 days in custody.

Mpofu said police investigating officers had already arrested Pius Jamba and there was no need to continue detaining Sikhala on charges of obstructing justice.

Mpofu proposed that Sikhala be granted $50 000 bail, not to interfere with witnesses and reside at given addresses.
