SA’s Kamo Mphela to spice up braai festival

SOUTH African amapiano sensation Kamo Mphela, born Kamogelo Matona, is expected to spice up this year’s edition of the Castle Lager Braai Festival set for Old Hararians Sports Club Saturday.

Mphela, famed for the track Nkulunkulu, is among a strong line-up that include local performers Winky D, Master H and Saintfloew.

DJ Etherton B, DJ L Roy, DJ Irvine and DJ Toxy Gen will be spinning the wheels in the cockpit.

Mphela recently told South African media that was working on her EP and fans can anticipate a summer of chart bangers.

“This year’s event promises to be an unforgettable experience, bringing together friends, and family and music lovers for a day of braaing, games and entertainment,” the organisers said in a statement.

“The event, which runs from 10am till late, offers something for everyone.

“Attendees can look forward to a complimentary braai pack and Castle Lager beer with their ticket purchase.

“Early bird tickets are available online for US$15, while gate tickets will be sold for US$20.”

This year’s edition, according to the organisers, is expected to draw thousands of attendees, all eager to enjoy a day filled with music, food and cultural celebrations.

“With a variety of fresh meat available for purchase and Castle Lager beers sold at pump price, attendees can indulge in their favourite braai treats,” reads the statement.

Winky D is coming back to the festival for the umpteenth appearance and over the years, he has given his best.

Saintfloew is riding high following the release of his latest album Trap Yavafundisi and fans should look forward to a scintillating performance from the Chitungwiza-born superstar.

Master H of the Zviri Mumoyo fame is no stranger to such gigs and he has a lot in store for the crowd.
